A common comment on the weekend of the HACT was “I wish this was around when I was a kid”. Quite frankly I wish that as well. Being able to learn from industry experts how to program a game or create a three dimensional object and then being given the freedom to create your own project would be something that I would gladly give my weekend up for.
Some of the projects sounded pure science fiction. Creating a robot hand out of 3d printed parts for instance.
Free comics and a chance to pilot your very own Tie Fighter you say! What more reason could I have needed for heading to Impact Comics? Actually, they had me at “free comics” but I also turned up to help Goldilocks Zone by producing a short edit of their art installation. The idea is to have the participant sit down have a picture taken and then watch as their image is sucked inside a Tie Fighter on flying a dangerous sabotage mission.
I can see plenty of exciting works on the horizon for this boutique agency and wish them much success.
