My second attempt at capturing the allusive Northern Lights. Considerably better than the first, but as always I feel like I could have done better. The show started around 3:00am and went for around an hour. At its height the lights were visible with the naked eye. I felt like I could almost hear them.
Growing up in Tasmania, a place far enough south to see the southern lights but still never seeing them is a bit of a downer. Living in Banff which is certainly far enough North to see the lights but not seeing them is more of a downer. Last weekend was when I finally got my break. I was camping after a day of rafting beside the Red Deer River, just happened to be up at 2am and there they were.
Not the best photos this time, but just wait until next time.
